I can't comment over there for some reason - but I think this ties into misconceptions about what introversion is. There are introverts who truly don't want to be around people, and then there are introverts who love people, even love getting in front of people and performing, but who still "recharge" by being by themselves or in smaller groups. I think that a HUGE percentage of librarians ARE introverts - but not of the loner sort. We discussed this at a library conference just this summer, and we somewhat came to the conclusion that most of us at this particular conference whom are seen as extroverts, are actually just on the high end of introverts, but we look more extroverted when compared to some of our quieter colleagues (and there's another false assumption about introversion - that it equals "quiet" - not necessarily!). Anyway - so I think there are REASONS for this particular stereotype - even if it's still false - but only because introversion does not necessarily equal loner...

That's an excellent point - introvert != loner! Thank you!
